Telecom looks attractive for investment: Taher Badshah

Taher Badshah of Motilal Oswal AMC told CNBC-TV18, "We are fairly positive on telecom sector, although there are limited options and opportunities to play. We are reasonably positioned out there, not just from the shorter term end, but even from a more medium to long-term perspective. We believe that pricing uptrend has still many more legs to go as we go ahead."

"There is a good amount of improvement in profitability that can be seen in many of these companies. Of course there is more longer term opportunity in data which will emerge in some of these companies in many of the telecom plays. So all in all we find it pretty fundamentally attractive sector to invest in today," he said.

Idea Cellular touched its 52-week high Rs 177.00 and 52-week low Rs 75.90 on 16 August, 2013 and 31 August, 2012, respectively. Currently, it is trading 11.84 percent below its 52-week high and 105.6 percent above its 52-week low. Market capitalisation stands at Rs 51,748.77 crore.
