CBI claims that PC Parakh entered into criminal conspiracy with certain individuals of Hindalco Company in order to show undue favour by abusing his official position of power.
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) FIR says a screening committee in 2005, chaired by former Coal Secretary PC Parakh , rejected Hindalco 's bid. However, after sustained meetings and letters that were communicated by KM Birla to PC Parakh and after personal meetings, this decision had been overturned, reports CNN-IBN's Arunoday Mukherjee.
Under what circumstance these decisions were overturned and why there was undue favour according to CBI shown to one particular company is where the CBI needs to further investigate and give sufficient evidence.
CBI claims that PC Parakh entered into criminal conspiracy with certain individuals of Hindalco Company in order to show undue favour by abusing his official position of power. For the moment there has been no money trail that has been established and that is where the criminality had been established.
Right now the CBI is just working on the fact that the 25th screening committee had met and taken a decision to outrightly reject Hindalco and had awarded the coal block in Odisha to another company.
