In the latest NSEL fiasco fallout - the Bombay High Court has granted bail to NSEL's former CEO Anjani Sinha. Sinha was arrested by the Mumbai police's Economic Offences Wing in October 2013 in connection with the Rs 5,600-crore payments crisis at the exchange.

Along with Anjani Sinha, the court has also granted bail to Amit Mukherjee and Jai Bahukhandi, at the assurity of Rs 5,00,000 each and on two other conditions: First, they have to be present every Sunday at the Economic Offences Wing or the EOW and are not allowed to leave the country.
This is an operative order that has come out and the detailed order of the High Court will be out soon. Madhoo Pavaskar, Anjani Sinha's lawyer, had sometime ago said that Sinha has been in custody since last six or seven months and there has not been much interrogation.
Now that the two main accused Jignesh Shah and Shreekant Javalgekar have been arrested by the police, there is no point in keeping Sinha under custody. If there is any data or information required or if Sinha needs to be questioned, he can easily be called in by the EOW.
