Currently, Heinken holds 39 percent stake and UB Group holds 35.81 percent in United Breweries. Heinken is looking to at least hike its stake by 4-5 percent more.
Heinken is looking for a larger pie of the United Breweries and the best way to achieve that would be buy stake from the UB lenders, since the promoter shareholding is already 75 percent.
Currently, Heinken holds 39 percent stake and UB Group holds 35.81 percent in United Breweries. Heinken is looking to at least hike their stake by 4-5 percent more.
UB lenders have been selling their pledged shares that they have in collateral against the loan that had been given to Kingfisher Airlines . About 5.3 crore shares are pledged and that is around 53.88 percent UB Groups shareholding.
However, Heinken refused to comment on market speculation.
