Aviation minister Ashok Gajapathi Raju made it clear that the government is not formulating any bailout package for airlines in distress. "Airlines are entitled to ask anybody who will give them cheaper loans. We will not come in the way of that," he adds.
Report cards of several ministries continue to trickle in, with the Narendra Modi government completing hundred days in office. Today, aviation minister Ashok Gajapathi Raju listed out the key decisions taken by his ministry during this period.
The minister made it clear that the government is not formulating any bailout package for airlines in distress. "Airlines are entitled to ask anybody who will give them cheaper loans. We will not come in the way of that," he adds.
He also said that the aviation ministry is talking to states in order to bring down taxes on aviation fuel – ATF is a highly taxed item - and some states have already responded.
