Thrissur, Nov 3 (PTI) The government has sanctioned Rs 50 lakh for the renovation of Sakthan Thampuran Heritage museum here. Raja Rama Varma, who was popularly known as Sakthan Tampuran, a powerful ruler of the erstwhile princely State of Cochin had started the celebrations of Thrissur Pooram festival through a Royal Declaration in 1798, a press relese said today.
